Where is Truman Annex and the NAS Housing Complex?
Truman Annex is the west tip of island just past Whitehead Street and the Old Town Key West area. Once you pass onto Truman Annex (there’s a sign) you’ll see a Coast Guard Cutter or Navy ship on your right. Next will be the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center. Then you can either enter onto the Naval Base or the Fort Zachary Taylor State Park.

Things to do Around NAS Key West Housing at Truman Annex
There are lots of things to do on Truman Annex within walking and bicycle riding distance:
- Enjoy the beautiful beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park
- Eat a Key Lime Pie on a Stick at the Cafe at the Beach
- Wander through the fort and grounds of Fort Zachary Taylor
- Tour a Navy Ship at port
- Visit the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center
Then, within a quick 5 minutes via bicycle or car, leave Truman Annex by going east which leads into Old Town Key West (you can’t get lost!).
Beyond Truman Annex - Old Town Key West
There are lots of expensive swanky resorts on Key West, but with all there is to do, you won’t be spending much time sleeping anyway. NAS lodging is all you need, plus maybe a bike rental!
There are tons of bike racks on the island, as bicycles are encouraged (car parking can be rough!).

Make your reservations for your Key West NAS Truman Annex lodging in advance. But we’ve been told they do their best to accommodate every request, even if it’s last minute.
Active duty can make reservations up to a year in advance!
